Special Screenings
The KIFF is hosting several special screenings as part of the festival:
- The Elders: Alive and Live in Ireland. - Thursday, Sept. 13th, 7:45 p.m. (Pre-festival kickoff, tickets are ONLY $8.00) Director Ben Meade will be in attendance.
- Brand Upon the Brain! - Friday, Sept. 14th, 7:10 p.m. (Tickets are $10.00) Director Guy Maddin will be in attendance.
- Poultrygeist, Night of the Chicken Dead - Tuesday, Sept. 18th, 5:20 p.m. (Tickets are $10.00) Director Lloyd Kaufman will be in attendance.
2007 KIFF IFC "Trailer Trash" Competition
The Kansas International Film Festival and the Independent
Filmmakers Coalition are sponsoring a short film competition, judged by Troma
Films co-founder and filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman. Filmmakers are encouraged to
enter a three minute (or less) grindhouse-style faux movie
trailer in a creative narrative, music video or documentary work.
In addition, the IFC will sponsor a post-screening reception for Kaufman. The reception will be held in the space adjacent to the Glenwood Arts Theatre at Metcalf South Mall. Admission to the reception is free for attendees of the 7:00 p.m. KIFF IFC Trailer Trash Film Competition, KIFF festival pass holders, and other KIFF screening attendees from that day and/or any Troma screening(s). The reception is scheduled for 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18th.
