NOVEMBER 7th, 2019

Directed by Brian Rose, In November 2006, Jesse Ross traveled Chicago to participate in an academic conference. While attending a meeting, he rose from his chair and walked out of the room. He has not been seen or heard from since. “When I Last Saw Jesse” is the story of what happened in Chicago that night, and the impact of his sudden and mysterious absence on his family and friends. Filmmaker in attendance.

Filmmakers are the heartbeat of the Kansas International Film Festival.

Cultivating careers is central to our core values and vision. KIFF supports early-career film artists as well as more well- known artists in the film industry. Accomplished and legendary auteurs have visited our fest. We’ve welcomed actor and activist, Ed Asner, horror icon George Romero, and special effects wizard Tom Savini. Experimental filmmakers Guy Maddin, Barbara Hammer, and Stan Brakhage, have graced our stages while liminaries like Debra Zimmerman, executive director of Women Make Movies have joined us. Many others from Scott Biao to Forest Akerman have stayed with us and many more will come. There is, of course, one we could never do without... you!
