FAQs

  • What Is KIFF?

Kansas International Film Festival (KIFF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of independent and classic cinema. Using the power of film, the festival brings communities together to share diverse cultures, viewpoints, and conversation. KIFF also stands as a platform for humanitarianism from all over the world. With support from the Fine Arts Group and many community partners, we advocate for the recognition of independent film as a cultural, economic and educational asset in our community.

  • What's the Difference Between a Pass and a Ticket?

A pass is for a patron who is interested in attending multiple events or films at the festival. It would be worth your money to get a pass vs. a ticket per event/film, possibly. A ticket is for someone who wants to, perhaps just get their feet wet and attend one event/film at the festival. Ticket and pass prices vary depending on what you’re interested in attending.

  • Where is the Festival Held?

KIFF is held at the premier cinematic art house of Overland Park, the Glenwood Arts Theater

  • When is the Festival?

KIFF 2019 will be held November 8th through November 14th, 2019.

  • I bought a pass; does that guarantee entry into any of the films or events?

No. Purchasing a pass will grant you access to get tickets to any of the events/films that the pass level offers. However, tickets are not guaranteed, and events/films will sell out so you must take your pass to the box office to get a ticket to the event/film for entry.

  • What Pass is What?

The passes are a little different this year. We are trying to offer more to our wonderful patrons by holding more events in addition to the films that remain the backbone of KIFF. We now have two pass levels. The All Access Pass gets you into all films, events, panels, and parties throughout the duration of the festival. If you are solely interested in the films; we offer the Film Access Pass. This does not grant access to any events, panels or parties but only film for the duration of the festival. We want to make sure our Film Community is taken care of as well. We remain loyal to our Film League, KCWIFT, IFC, KC Screenwriters, and other film organizations in the Kansas City area. So, we have a pass for you too. The KIFFSTER Pass is equivalent to the All Access Pass, granting access to all films, events, panels, and parties throughout the duration of the festival at a discount rate.

  • What is the Film League Membership?

You can receive discounts on passes, tickets, and merchandise during the festival; as well as discounts throughout the year at the Fine Arts Theatres by purchasing an annual Film League Membership! You also receive an exclusive membership t-shirt and card that will get you discounts.

  • How Early do I Need to Arrive?

Passholders get in first; which is 30 minutes prior to showtime. You must arrive 30 minutes prior to take advantage of priority seating. If you are a ticketholder, you will get in 15 minutes prior to showtime; after all passholders have been seated. It is always bet to line up 45-30 minutes prior to entry to secure seating.
